Vodafone Stoke (1)2-0(0) Audley reserves

Staffordshire County Senior League Division 2, venue:  Leek Road, Milton, Stoke on Trent, ST2 7AF, att: 16, 24th August 2011

Vodafone Stoke play at the former home of Milton United.  Milton were a long established Staffordshire non-league team until they folded about 10 years ago.  This venue has hosted FA Vase ties in the 1980s.

It appears that Vodafone Stoke have done some work to tidy up the ground as it had fell into disrepair.  One side has been railed and the stand which is currently a shell will be covered again in the near future.  More railings will go up and it looks like this old ground is now a work in progress for a go ahead club.

As for the game it was refereed by an eccentric chap who was waving yellow cards like confetti.  The game was OK, Audley never threatened and Vodafone scored 2 goals in a game that was rather pedestrian.
